OVERVIEW :

You will visit Nyungwe Forest National park. It is a home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (including a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also a birder’s paradise with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, and is home to 75 different species of mammals. You will visit Akagera National Park and will enjoy a boat ride on the lake Ihema.

DETAILED ITINARARY :

Day 1:Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

You will be picked from the airport/hotel by one of our tour guides and will be briefed about the safari. You will then be transferred by road to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province enroute. You will then proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park after lunch reaching late afternoon.

Day 2: Chimpazee tracking and canopy Walk

You will be moved to the park offices after breakfast for a briefing ahead of chimpanzee tracking. Embark on chimpanzee tracking after breakfast in which you will see the primates, with 13 species of Chimpanzee resident in Forest. After Lunch you will enjoy the canopy walk way through the forest.

Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park

You will be transferred to Akagera National park after breakfast. It is home to several antelopes like elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker, bohor reedbuck, klipspringer, impala and world largest antelope – the Cape eland.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Ride

You will start the day with an early morning game drive through the park in search of lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Masai Giraffe, Gazelles, Impala, Baboons, Oribi, Butchel’s zebra, Topi, Bush baby, Leopard and bushbuck, Elands and many others. You will have lunch at the lodge and will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Ihema in the afternoon.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali and departure

You will depart for Kigali after breakfast and will enjoy a city tour including a visit to the museum and the genocide memorial site and will have lunch in Kigali.
